Seed Pom Hat
Who doesn’t love wearing big oversized knit accessories!?! I know I do. Partially because they are super fun and fast to make but mainly because they make me look petite! As a child I was obsessed with any children’s story with tiny characters, The Littles, The Borrowers, Stewart Little, Thumbelina… This hat reminds me of being a child and imagining myself as 3” tall and how my perception of the most iniquitous objects would change. A spoon would be the size of a cello, a knee deep bath becomes a great lake. And perhaps this hat would look the same on the 3” tall me knit from sock weight yarn and tooth picks as my massive DPNs.
Pattern Notes: This hat is knit from the bottom up using only size 13 needles. No need for dropping a needle size for this brim! This fun and whimsical hat is an easy and more importantly FAST knit. The left over yarn from the hat is used to make the large pom pom on top. Which means… No scrap yarn! Yippee!
