Here is a great way to REALLY re-cycle cans. Just crochet covers with odds and ends of worsted weight yarn. Make them in bright colors or stripes for your kids or colors to match the decor of any room in which you want to use them. They are great for pens, pencils, paper clips, kitchen utensils, crochet hooks, tools, etc. Just use your imagination. I have included a short poem at the end of the instructions, which you can use, should you wish to give one or more of these as a gift.

The instructions are give to make covers for cans with the following diameters: 2-1/8”, 2-3/4”, 3, 3-1/8”, 3-3/8”, 4”, and 4-1/4”.
