Seeds of Change is a shawl/scarf pattern knit with a beautiful Victorian Seed Lace pattern border. The lace pattern is from the website http://laceknitter.blogspot.co.uk curated by Kathleen Anderson, who has given me permission to use this pattern in my design.

The Shawl body is knit in two sections, one increasing and the second decreasing to give a symmetrical shawl. The lace edging is knit on as you go.

There is one size which uses one 100g skein of fingering weight yarn. However it is easily adapted to any amount of and weight of yarn using percentages.
I recommend a solid, semi solid or tonal yarn to really allow the lace to show at its best.

I used 378 yards which resulted in a shawl that was 81” long and 11” at its widest point.

The pattern has an abbreviations key; written and charted instructions for the lace; a table of instructions with stitch counts; and notes on blocking.

This would be a great piece for a beginner lace knitter to try, as it has both charts and written instructions and basic lace stitches. It would also suit a more experienced knitter as an enjoyable straightforward project.

Stitches used Knit, Knit 2 together, yarn over, knit front and back and slip one.

The pattern has been tested.
