My latest creation is the Seeking Normalcy Ear Warmer. This colorful design features ribs of texture that really highlight the changing colors of the Hopscotch yarn. This design comes in two adjustable sizes. I hope making it can create a little normalcy in your life too.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Fsc- Foundation Single Crochet
Ch 2, insert hook in first ch, yarn over (YO) and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), YO and pull through one loop, creating a chain, (this is an important step but easy to forget).  YO and pull through two remaining loops on hook.  This completes the first fsc.  To stitch the next fsc insert the hook into the chain made in the first fsc and repeat from to desired length or until the desired amount of sts are achieved.

Fhdc- Foundation Half Double Crochet
Chain 3 (counts as first fhdc). Yarn over (YO) and insert hook in 3rd chain from hook YO and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through 1 loop creating a chain, (this is an important step but easy to forget), YO and pull through all three loops on hook.  This completes the second fhdc (remember your first ch3 counted as the first fhdc).  To stitch the next fhdc, yarn over and insert the hook into the chain made in the 2nd fhdc and repeat from until the desired amount of sts are achieved.

NOTES

  • Be sure not to sl st too tightly.

  • When working the first 15 and last 15 sl sts you will only be working into 1 loop of the previous row.

  • Pattern is written in size XS with changes for S parentheses.

  • Pattern to fit baby through large adult

  • You may want to use st markers to mark the fsc sts in row 1. Move marker up for each row.

  • Do not ch 1 at the end of each row.
