Seesaw Cowl
Seesaw cowl is a small unisex accessory, it keeps your neck warm during the cold season and looks very cute and stylish. The cowl is worked in wave pattern, very easy and engaging to knit.
These waves remind me of a seesaw play in childhood, so here is where the name for this cowl comes from.
Seesaw cowl is designed in two sizes: size 1 for more fitted and shorter look and size 2 for more relaxed and longer fit. It’s a perfect small project for making the holiday gifts or just for relaxed knitting.
Seesaw cowl is worked top down seamlessly in the round in wave pattern. Some increases are incorporated in the pattern repeat so the cowl circumference is wider on the bottom and drapes nicely on the neck. The length of the cowl can be easily adjusted to desired length.

100 g of Lana Gatto Super Soft (100% merino wool; 50g / 1.8oz – 125 m / 137 yds);
held together with
Yarn B
25 (50) g of Lana Gatto Silk mohair (75% mohair, 25% silk; 25g/0.9oz- 212 m / 232 yds);
OR
Red sample
150 (200) g of Drops Nepal (100% merino wool; 50g /1.8oz – 75 m / 82 yds); worked single stranded.
Yardage: approx 175 (240) m / 192 (263) yards of each similar heavy dk weight yarn and lace mohair yarn OR worsted/aran weight yarn.
For longer cowl, you will need more yarn than estimated.
Suggested yarn: Similar heavy dk weight yarn held together with a lace mohair yarn OR worsted/aran weight yarn worked single stranded to obtain the required gauge.
Gauge
18 sts x 22 rnds = 10cm (4’’) in wave pattern in the round after blocking.
Gauge is not so critical for this project but it will affect finished measurements and fabric.
Techniques used: long tail cast on, knitting in the round, k2tog and ssk decreases, yarn over, knit throught the back loop, strechy bind off.
