Finish your chic ensemble in this Springtime in Paris inspired cowl as you float down the Seine River towards a romantic rendezvous at a French cafe. Drop stitches and wavy cables flow continuously with the movement of the river. Fresh croissants and cafe au lait won’t be the only tempting treats warming your heart.
Tech edited and test knit pattern includes written directions, charts, and a You Tube video.
Finished Measurements:
Note: Small loop is without drops and large loop is with drops.
Small Loop: 20”/ 51cm long by 8.5”/ 21.5cm wide.
Large Loop: 43”/ 109cm long by 11”/ 28cm wide.
Materials:
2 (4) skeins Americo Originals Cotton Flamme held quadrupled for a voluminous dropped stitch effect. Single skein info: 100% organic cotton; 427yds / 400m per 100g/ 3.53oz
US 9/ 5.5mm straight needles
Cable needle
2 stitch markers
Yarn needle
Scrap yarn (for provisional CO and Set-Up Row)
Gauge:
16 sts and 24 rows over 4”/ 10cm in Stockinette stitch. Both samples shown with yarn held quadrupled using US 9/ 5.5mm needles. Note: Exact gauge is not crucial for the design but will alter yardage and finished measurements.
Special Notes:
• Worked flat and then grafted. Directions include both a drop and non-drop version. The optional drop stitches occur on the final row so you have plenty of time to decide. If using a single skein, break it up into four equal lengths before beginning.
• Check out “Grafting the Seine Cowl & Cuffs” on the Knit Eco Chic You Tube channel for a grafting guide.
