A flowing vest with solid sst lower half (to showcase the yarn) and lace upper half (to add texture). The vest is knitted in one piece, starting at the lower edge (back and both fronts together), continuing to the underarms, then splitting to knit fronts and back separately, then rejoined at the upper edge to finish. The fall version used Dream in Color aran weight, the summer version carried the two yarns to get to gauge…..euroflax wet spun linen and metallic. With the summer version the blending of the flat linen with the shinier alpaca made for an interesting combination. Approximately 600 yards needed. Easy to intermediate pattern. Knowledge of YO’s and SKP good to have, but there is a tutorial under the NOTES section to aid with the lace section. Named the SEINE vest after the seine fishing nets, plus my love of the Seine River in Paris.
