120 yards of worsted weight yarn in main color (BC) 120 yards of worsted weight yarn in contrast color (CC)

You will need approximately 140 yards in contrast colours if you choose to make the optional pompom.

Needles:

4.5 mm, 16” circular needle and 4.5 double pointed needles

Or sizes necessary to achieve gauge. Please be sure to knit a gauge swatch.

Gauge:

20 sts x 23 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stranded colorwork when blocked.

Finished Size:

Hat is 8.5” (23cm) in height and 19” (48cm)in circumference but will comfortably fit a 22” (56cm) circumference head size.

Stitch marker to mark beginning of round and a tapestry needle for sewing in ends. Pompom maker for optional pompom
