This shawl capitalizes on the long color runs of Broadway yarn, creating horizontal stripes on one side, and vertical stripes on the other. The shawl is cast on for the full 40” length; when the 18” width is reached, stitches are bound off, and the other side of the “L” shape is completed. This produces the horizontal/vertical stripe effect. The shawl border is seed stitch, while the interior is knit in stockinette stitch. The “L” shape of the shawl allows it to remain more easily on the shoulders.
