Inspired by a Prairie School style window, this shaw will wrap you in warmth and sophistication. The center cabled panel calls to mind fish tails, while the side panels evoke the rippling waters of rock strewn streams. Travel back to a time of mythical creatures, where they can shift shapes and travel from a watery world to the terrestrial and back again.
Each half of this shawl begins with a provisional cast-on of your choice, then is worked toward the center. The stitches are joined with a simple join worked without knitting.
Stitches for the side edges are picked up with a contrasting color and worked in 1 row of garter, then color is changed back to the main color for 5 more rows of garter before binding off.
After returning the provisionally cast-on stitches to your needle, pick up a few stitches along the ends of the side edges. Work a few rows of garter, a band of seed stitch, then more garter stitch, including 2 rows in the contrasting color.
