Semeru Socks
The pattern is now available in English and Russian! Thanks to Ksenia (lifeiscozy) who translated it into Russian.
Semeru is an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia, and is the highest mountain on the island of Java. This chandelier lace motif reminds me of Semeru mountain when I saw it. I love twisted stitch and simple lace motifs, so I did some modifications to the original chandelier stitch pattern. The lace motif looks intricate, but it is actually pretty easy to do! With solid to semi-solid or light speckled colored yarn, you will get the best look of the socks.
LEVEL
Intermediate to advanced.
NEEDLES
US-1.5 (2.5mm) knitting needles. 5 pcs of DPN set, or 1 long circular needles for magic loop method. I personally used DPN set.
NOTIONS (optional)
1 stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round, or more if you want to mark the lace motif chart stitches.
Tapestry needle for grafting the toe stitches.
GAUGE
Approx. 14 sts x 18 rows = 5 x 5cm (2 x 2”) in St st in the rnd, blocked, relaxed. It is fine if you could not find the similar gauge as mine, because sock yarn is naturally flexible. I am a tight knitter. So if you are a loose knitter, please use 1 size down from the suggested needles.
The pattern is tested.
