Senja Earwarmer
The Senja earwarmer is an easy and quick crochet project, and if you want you can add some embroidery to it. Instructions for that are also included in the pattern.
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
LANGUAGES AVAILABLE: English and Norwegian
PATTERN TYPE: Made to measure
This pattern is written in a “measure yourself” style, which means it does not contain any specific stitch counts, yardages, or gauges. It also means you can choose the yarn and yarn weight you want to work with. However, using yarn with some stretch (e.g. wool yarn) is preferable.
There is a general table with sizes and measurements in the pattern. However, size may differ from person to person, so it is most precise to measure yourself.
To make the Senja earwarmer you need:
- Yarn of your choice
- A crochet hook that fits the chosen yarn, and a larger hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
- Stitch markers
If you want to embroider on the earwarmer you will also need:
Embroidery thread and needle
Or some fingering/sport weight yarn (perfect way to use yarn scraps)
How much yarn I used to make the samples (size M):
White sample in photo tutorial: 47g = 73 m / 80 yd per strand
2 strands of Pure Merino Light (Merinor) held together with 1 strand of Tynn kid silk Erle.
White sample in the pictures above: 31g = 88 m / 96 yd per strand.
1 strand of Pure Merino Light (Merinor) held together with 1 strand of Tynn kid silk Erle.
Brown sample: 49g = 75 m / 82 yd per strand
2 strands of Mini Alpakka (Sandnes Garn) held together
Blue sample: 25g = 75 m / 82 yd of Drops Air
THIS IS A CROCHET PATTERN ONLY, NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT
