In the Stranger Things TV series, the character named Eleven uses sensory deprivation tanks to focus her powers, see into the Upside Down, and revisit memories. The simple colorwork was inspired by the gentle ripples in the tank’s water while the color change between the leg and the foot represents the water line where half of her is floating above and the other half is below.

This pattern is a great way to use up partial skeins and leftovers. It also works well as an introduction to simple, 2-color stranded colorwork. Tips and a tutorial link are provided for working the stranded sections. Yarn dominance is also addressed.

Sizes:
S – 63 sts (M – 70 sts, L – 77 sts)

Materials:
Fingering weight sock yarn in 3 colors: 25-35 g of colors 1 & 2 and 30-40 g of color 3

One US size 1 (2.25mm) circular needles, 32” or longer
One US size 1.5 (2.5mm) circular needle, 32” or longer (optional for colorwork sections)
Locking/removable stitch markers & tapestry needle

This pattern is written for magic loop but can be adapted to your preferred needle type. Tips are provided for dpns, two circulars, and a small circumference circular.

Gauge:
10 rpi (rows per inch) in single-color stockinette
8 - 9 spi (stitches per inch) in 2-color stranded colorwork & single-color stockinette
