Sentimenti
By wearing my new hat I want the sentiment of summer and autumn to endure through the hard months of winter. The flowers and leaves will give me a good reminder of the lovely summers behind, and the new summers to come.

Design/construction
The beanie is worked bottom-up and in-the-round. It starts from a ribbed hem, followed by a section of stranded pattern. The top of the hat is worked in one of the colors, featuring a lace-leaf pattern. The crown of the hat is shaped by “invisible” decreases.
SizeThe hat is one-size. Circumference: 55 cm/21.75” Height, from cast-on to top: 21 cm/8.25”
You might modify the circumference by working at another gauge.
For instance: working at 27 sts = 10 cm/4” the circumference will be 57 cm/22.5”.
Materials
Yarn: I used Jamiesons of Shetland’s “Shetland Spindrift” to work the hat. This fingering weight yarn comes in balls of 25 gr/0.88oz and 105 m/115 yards. You will need 1 ball of MC (Eesit). For the contrasting colours you will need less than 10 gr each of the following colours: Nighthawk/ Mogit / Fern / Pine Forest / Scotch Broom. The hat is perfect for using up those tiny little left-overs, Needles: 1 circular needle, 40 cm/16” long, size 3 mm/US2.5. One set of dpns, size 3 mm/US2.5.
Gauge
The sample is worked at 28 sts in stranded knitting = 10 cm/4”.
The pattern
The stranded pattern is charted (colour-chart).
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out, round-by-round.
Knitting skills
