Sepa
Sepa is the outer layer of petals of a flower bud to protect it from winter weather until the sun comes out and the air warms and the Sepa sheds in order for the flower bud to bloom. This hat will do the same for you.
The brim of this hat is worked flat. The stitches are then joined to work in the round for the body and crown of the hat.
There is the option of working the body in magic loop method or using a shorter circular needle to knit in the round then changing to dpn(s) when necessary.
Full instructions to work the brioche stitch are included in this pattern. 1 skein of each color is more than adequate.
Any worsted weight yarn is suitable as well as any color combination.
If you want to make the hat smaller just use a lighter weight yarn or go down a needle size. Brioche is very lofty and soft and a smaller needle size than what you usually use for the given yarn is suggested so that the stitches don’t come out too loose.
Use a locking stitch marker since a regular stitch marker may get lost in the stitches.
