Sepal
Sharply botanical, this asymmetrical shawl features a twisted stitch pattern that reminds me of the slender, twining sepals of wild spray roses.
Worked end to end and then rotated, Sepal’s asymmetrical shape is bordered on one side by a dramatic rib that’s deepest at the peak. On the other side, a slipped I-cord edge keeps things tidy.

YARN
90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon; 480 yds / 439 m per 125 g skein. This is a classic sock yarn with lots of drape, moderate gloss and stitch definition, and modest springiness.

GAUGE
28 sts and 36 rows over 4 inches / 10 cm in Fractured Lattice with size A needles.
NEEDLES
Size A: US Size 5 / 3.75 mm or size needed to obtain gauge. Straight or circular needles suitable.
Size B: US Size 3 / 3.25 mm or two sizes smaller than size A, 60 inch / 150 cm (or use two shorter needles)
