September Garden Cowl
September Garden Cowl, part of the Friluftsliv Cowl Collection, features colorways that capture the essence of a late summer garden. The textured stitches represent the lifecycle of flowers in our community gardens, and how, in early autumn, there is beauty in the final days of the blooms, even as the petals sprinkle the overgrown grass and weeds.
Friluftsliv (pronounced free-loofts-liv) is a Scandinavian term that translates to “open air living.” My designs are often inspired by the natural beauty throughout the northeast United States. I designed these cowls to wear on -- and brighten -- my outdoor hikes during the seasons we experience from late fall through spring.
Elements of the cowls in the collection are related, yet each design offers something unique. As I tried to create a universally well-fitting piece, I realized how differently we like to wear cowls, particularly around ease and drape at the neck. I hope you will find one that you love!
September Garden Cowl is knit from the bottom up in two pieces and then joined to knit in the round. There is no seaming.
