September Socks
Socks with texture make for some fun squishy socks. These socks have a lot of stretch, but still keep their shape. One of the good things about knitting baby socks is that they work up quickly. The pattern for this sock is quick and easy to remember, making for an easy smooth project.
Gauge:
Stockinette stitch:
* 18 sts x 23 rows = 2” x 2”.
The following techniques are used in this pattern:
Knitting in the round on circular needles using the magic loop method.
Decreasing.
Grafting
This sock is worked from the cuff down to the toe.
Written instructions for 7 sizes:
Newborn to fit approximate foot size 2.75”.
0-3 months to fit approximate foot size 3.25”.
3-6 months to fit approximate foot size 3.75”.
6-9 months to fit approximate foot size 4.25”.
9-12 months to fit approximate foot size 5”.
12-18 months to fit approximate foot size 5.5”
18-24 months to fit approximate foot size 6”.
Abbreviations and Stitches Used:
( ) – work instructions within parenthesis as many times as directed.
st(s) - stitch(es).
k knit.
k2tog – knit 2 stitches together.
k2tbl - knit 2 stitches together through the back loop.
p – purl.
p2tog – purl 2 stitches together.
pm – place marker.
rem – remaining.
rep – repeat.
rnd(s) – round(s).
BOR – beginning of round.
pu – pick up indicated number of stitches.
