This simple lace shawl is designed to be created using a sock set with 100g of one color and 20g of a coordinating color. It was originally designed for a mermaid themed monthly Sock Crate from Southern Skeins. I always love sock sets but I don’t love knitting socks, so why not a shawl, because, after all… mermaids don’t wear socks!

A combination of stockinette stitch sections, lateral braids, and simple lace patterns create a beautiful, lightweight shawl in an interesting shape that keeps your attention while you knit.
