The Serein Scarf~
Serein- the mist or fine rain falling from an apparent clear sky.
This beginner-friendly scarf is a classic design that is made with simple eyelets and a scalloped edging. It is first worked flat from tip to tip then stitches are picked up along the edge and joined in the round to knit the border.
Sizes: One Size- but can easily be adjusted to make larger
Measurements: Length from tip to tip: 55.5” 141 cm
Width at center: 16.5” 42 cm
Gauge: 17 sts x 36 rows = 4 x 4” 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch, on US 8, 5mm needles
* Gauge isn’t too important for this project
Needle Size: US 8, 5 mm 24” circular or straight needles for body or size needed to obtain gauge
US 6, 4 mm 47”+ circular needles or two sizes smaller than gauge needle for edging
Yarn: Main color: DK Weight - Sandnes Garn Double Sunday 118 yds / 108 m / 50 g per skein in color Marzipan 2321 440 yds, 402 m, 186 g
Contrast color: DK Weight - Sandnes Garn Double Sunday 118 yds / 108 m / 50 g per skein in color Nougat 3552 145 yds, 133 m, 61 g
Notions: 1 stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors, measuring tape
