Serendipity Scarf
This pattern was inspired by a student in one of my knitting classes. I was teaching a pattern for a round dishcloth which was knitted in a series of short-row wedges and with the bound-off edge then joined to the cast-on edge to make a circle. At one point a question was raised about the short row technique used to create the wedges, because the student had inadvertently skipped the final knit row of their wedge, resulting in wedges going in alternating directions and forming a strip instead of a circle. This serendipitous discovery soon morphed into my serendipity
scarf pattern.
The scarf is knitted using worsted weight yarn and size 8mm/US11 needles. Samples shown are made with variegated colors of Red Heart Super Saver acrylic yarn.
