The inspiration of the pattern comes from the Serengeti National Park riverines that are alive and flowing during the wet season. I wanted to create something that was lightweight enough for the heat of the area, yet beautiful and inspired by the beauty of the land. Wavy lines flow from one end to the other of this scole, while simple eyelets stream up alongside them to symbolize the pools of water left behind during the dry season.

A “scole” is an idea created by my sister… this was meant to be a stole, yet once I realized it was not wide enough to be a stole it became a scarf + a stole = a scole. You can knit this in three separate ways, one a thinner, light weight scarf for your neck, or you can broaden it to create a scole, or add even more stitches to create a gorgeous stole.
