This Serious skull beanie hat is quick to knit & very warm. Knit in a mosaic stitch.
This gives a finished result looking like Fairisle, but, you knit one entire row with
one colour, then switch to another. This means no stranded yarn across the back,
all contrast stitches are brought up from the row below by slipping them. Knitted
in the round – with magic loop at the top – Google this, much easier than using
double pointed needles. You can use DPNS if you prefer. I used 2 strands of 4ply
from Denys Brunton Magicolour in a black & green stripe (This gives the equivalent
of d.k) , along with stylecraft d.k special yarn in
cream – white looked a little too stark.
You need 50g of each colour & a 4mm
round needle
Tapestry needle
