The lovely mosaic pattern in this beanie was designed by my youngest son, then aged seven.

He told me it was a snake and as I was trying to design a pattern inspired by Ancient Greek mosaics, I thought it appropriate to use the Ancient Greek word for snake to name this beanie.

The beanie is a lovely 2 colour stranded colourwork. 8 rows, 2-4 repeats depending on size.

The rib is a twisted rib construction,

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Brim circumference 17 (18, 20)”/42.5, (46, 50) cm, blocked and unstretched.
Length from base of brim to top centre of crown 7.5 (8.5, 9”) 19 (21, 23) cm

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
US #4 / 3.5MM and US #7 / 5mm (or as required to meed gauge
16” circular needle and/or DPN’s in each size. If you don’t like DPN’s you will require a longer cable for your needles to be able to decrease the crown.

Stitch markers for marking EOR and crown decreases (need about 17)

YARN AMOUNT
This beanie is fantastic for using up small amounts of yarn.
Small – approx. 50g needed
Medium – approx. 63g needed
Large – approx. 73g needed.

This pattern is extremely versatile, samples are shown is both 2 colour and 3 colours.
