The inspiration for Serrati came to me during the 2014 Yarn Crawl LA when I walked into a LYS called The Little Knittery http://www.thelittleknittery.com and Kat showed me a cowl she designed using this twisted looking drop stitch, but it’s not a drop stitch at all. She proceeded to show me how to knit this stitch, and I thought to myself I really need to incorporate this stitch into a shawl design. So I went home took out some scraps and started making swatches using this stitch adding some wedges along with stockinette stitches and she came to life before my eyes :-)

My choice for yarn this time was easy…. I’ve become friends with Joyce from The Flying Kettle https://www.etsy.com/shop/theflyingkettle and I asked her if she would dye me up some single ply fingering weight yarn in three shades of grey, light, medium, dark. (Timberwolf, Retrograde & Arsenic). Needless to say the end result in her dying technique was amazing as the colors turned out exactly as I visioned them in my head. Now we have SERRATI….
