Set Sail Shawl
This is my first pattern design and was written in excited anticipation for my first knitting cruise (setting sail August 2024)! I was having visions of standing by the side railing of the boat with a pretty shawl draped over my shoulders as I gaze off to the horizon.
The finished shawl is a long rectangle with sections of eyelets. I used a beautiful DK weight yarn from Blue Sky Fibers called Skyland. This wool/alpaca/silk blend yarn had a beautiful drape perfect for a shawl like this. My shawl required ~840 yards to achieve the finished measurements 18” wide x 61” long. You can use other weights of yarn instead and just adjust the cast on number, yardage, and needle used.
I also did some beading in the first and last eyelet section of my shawl and include a video tutorial showing how I added my beads.
