If you love knitting cable lace, you will truly enjoy making and using this stitch pattern. It makes a lovely scarf, but of course, you can use the stitch pattern for any flat garment that you like. This cute stitch is appropriate for knitters with some experience that are new to both cabling and lace. The turtleneck insures warmth, even though you’re knitting this with sport weight yarn. And of course, you can make this scarf in the traditional manner (no turtleneck section) by just knitting straight. You can also make it using worsted weight by eliminating a repeat or two (as you like) and adjusting gauge.
The focal stitch is both written out, and charted, and there are directions for an optional crocheted edging for both gauges.
Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a some working knowledge of cabling and lace knitting.)
Skill Level for the Optional Edging: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of crocheting)
The scarf shown in the sample was made with Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport Weight yarn in colorway, Glenellyn, and was expertly test knitted by Kristen Butman who can be reached at: kmb34me@ hotmail.com
