Setina has such an unusual construction, worked sideways with a game of increases and decreases that it gives a nice result of stripes going in a different way for each section!
The lace edge is easy to memorize and is worked at the same time than the striped body (no picking up, no infinite last rows!) which makes it a fun and boredomless knit, with no more than a hundred stitches on the needle.
This construction also allows it to be fully customizable in depth and in length, you can use whatever yarn weight you want. A section in the pattern is dedicated to adaptation tips.

Approx 140 cm length/ 40 cm depth after blocking.

Gauge:
19 sts and 42 rows = 10 cm/4’’ in garter stitch, lace blocked.
Gauge is not critical for this shawl, it can be made with any kind of yarn, but please not this will affect final size and yarn requirements!

Yarn & Notions:

• 2 skeins of Laines du Scarabée “Morpho” (70% alpaca, 20 % silk, 10% cashmere - 400 m / 100 g) in 2 different colorways (here shown in Aluminium in Main Color and Voile in Contrasting Color) - or approx. 400 m of any fingering yarn for MC and 250 m in CC.
• Circular needles to get gauge (suggested size: 3,5 mm/US#4)
• 2 markers.

Setina est un châle à la construction originale puisqu’il est travaillé dans la largeur et que les jeux d’augmentations et de diminutions viennent rythmer les rayures qui sont alors dans un sens différent à chaque section !
La bordure en dentelle est facile à mémoriser et est tricotée en même temps que le corps en rayure, ce qui, associé aux rangs très courts en fait un tricot sans une minute d’ennui !
La construction originale de ce châle le rend totalement adaptable à tout type de laine et à toute taille souhaitée, un paragraphe est consacré à l’adaptation du modèle

L’échantillon n’est absolument pas essentiel pour ce châle, cependant notez bien que toute modification affectera la taille finale et la quantité nécessaire de fil !

Fournitures & Matériel :

• 2 écheveaux de Morpho des Laines du Scarabée (70% alpaga, 20 % soie, 10% cachemire - 400 m / 100 g) dans 2 coloris contrastés (ici Aluminium en coloris principal et Voile en coloris contrastant) - ou approximativement 400 m de fil de type «Fingering» permettant d’obtenir l’échantillon dans le coloris principal et 250 m dans le coloris contrastant.
• Aiguilles circulaires nécessaires pour obtenir l’échantillon (taille suggérée : 3,5 mm)
• 2 marqueurs. .
