Named for Maia, one of the seven sisters of the Pleiades, this is the first in a series of lace socks I am designing. The lace is fairly simple (every other row is plain knit, and the lace is created with YOs, SSKs and K2TOGs), but interesting enough to keep experienced lace knitters from nodding off over their knitting.
