Seven Year Stitch
Wool and copper are the traditional gifts for a 7th wedding anniversary.
How could any knitter worth their salt let that day pass without a hand knit gift? If you’re giving this hat for an upcoming anniversary, be sure to use a quality yarn that’ll avoid the 7 year itch.
In addition to the wool, this pattern contains a hidden touch of copper and 7 secret 7s!
The pattern includes both complete written and charted instructions.
The gauge as written above is given for the branch pattern repeat as written in the pattern. Given the cables, this will provide a more realistic representation of the final knit.
The tree branches are created with twisted stitches as originally found in a Barbara Walker stitch dictionary, but you could easily achieve a similar look using two-stitch mock cables.
