This is a very simple pattern based on a seven row repeat - hence its name. It doesn’t matter when you are small or large, or even a child, you can size this to fit you. For most sizes a single skein of fingering or sock weight yarn will be enough and a mini skein could be used for contrast edging if you wish. The shrug pictured in the pattern is made using a merino / bamboo blend but it would work well with any yarn.
