The idea that lies behind Sewerka was to create a shawl à l’inverse, started by lace and with a plain section at the border.
The shawl is an irregular triangle, the wingspan is a bit longer than doubled height. This makes the shawl easy to wrap and, if done in lightweight yarn, it makes a great pareo.
The pattern is adjustable in size by adding more repeats to both sections, there is also a choice of ending your shawl: either plain or a tiny lace.

Size and yarn – fingering through sport to DK. The size of the shawl depends on the yarnweight used and on the number of repeats of both the lace and border sections.

Pictured shawls were knitted with the following yarn:
light brown - Alpaca from Drops Garnstudio #607 on US 2 ½ – 3,00 mm and US 4 – 3.5mm needles. I used up five skeins = 835m / 913 yds), the shawl measures approx. 76 x 235cm/30 x 93” blocked,
grey blue - YarnArt Merino, discontinued, needles US4 - 3,5 and US6 - 4mm, I used up two skeins, the shawl measured 70 x 221cm / 27½ x 87”,
coloured version – Kokonek 100% cotton, 1000m/1094 yds, on US 2 ½ – 3,00 mm and US 4 – 3.5mm needles, the shawl measures 88 x 226cm / 34½ x 89”.

Sewerka to taka chusta na opak, zaczyna się od ażurów, a kończy częścią prawie gładką. Ma kształt trójkąta o nieco szerszej podstawie tak, że jej rozpiętość jest nieco większa niż podwójna wysokość. Brak jej typowego dziurawego kręgosłupa, a zewnętrzny brzeg można wykonać na dwa sposoby: gładki rulonik lub ażurowe ząbki.
W zależności od grubości włóczki Sewerka może być ciepłym zimowym otulaczem, zamotką na okres przejściowy, letnią narzutką a nawet pareo.
Wielkość chusty można dostosować zarówno w części ażurowej jak i gładkiej zwiększając lub zmniejszając ilość powtórzeń.

Rozmiar i włóczka - chustę można wydziergać z włóczki ombre lub jednokolorowej, grubość od fingering do DK, czyli ok 500 do 200m na 100g. Jeżeli chcesz zrobić zakończenie w ząbki, koniecznie wybierz włókna naturalne lub z niewielką domieszką akrylu.
