Based on a stitch pattern from Volume I of the Vogue Stitchionary, I made this Simple Gathered Stockinette Scarf.

Worsted yarn can be used, and since gauge does not matter for a scarf, please feel free to experiment with the needle size and cast-on stitches. Using approximately 275 yards of a DK weight yarn, my scarf is 50 inches long and six inches wide.
