This is a modification of Strikkelise’s Baktus pattern to give it a subtle chevron pattern using illusion (or shadow) knitting.

Knitting knowledge required: knit, purl, increase, decrease.

Equipment required: two contrasting skeins of yarn and appropriately sized needles.
For mine I used a skein of Noro Kureyon 8ply (50g), a skein of Spotlight Basics Pure Wool 8ply (50g) and 4mm knitting needles which produced a scarf that was 148cm long and 25cm wide at its widest point.
