A relaxing, meditative make, the Shadow Plaid Wrap is the project you’ll reach for at the end of the day to help you unwind.

Construction: This trapezoidal wrap is worked lengthwise from the bottom up with increases at the beginning and end of each row.

Stitch pattern: A variation of granny stitch, you’ll work (ch 1, 2 dc) in each chain-1 space between 2-dc groups.

Colorwork: Tapestry crochet is used to create the vertical stripe pattern. You’ll change colors after every 2-dc group.

Working into chain spaces like this gives the fabric a lovely, soft drape — perfect for large accessories like this wrap. And best of all, the fabric is completely reversible. Whether worn around the neck or around the shoulders, this wrap is a lot of fun to style and wear!

The sample shown here took approximately 62 hours to make.

• 370g for MC
• 75g for CC1
• 90g for CC2
• 105g for CC3
• 120g for CC4

For the burgundy sample shown here, I used Cascade 220 Superwash Sport (light) weight wool yarn (136.5 yds/125 m; 1.75 oz/50 g per hank): 8 hanks #265 Burgundy (MC); 2 hanks #323 Mauve (CC1); 2 hanks #503 Mauve Shadow (CC2); 3 hanks #262 Dull Gold (CC3), and 3 hanks #318 Silver Fern (CC4)
