This is a really easy car seat size blanket worked in double crochet, single crochet and chain sts. The vertical stripes, which I like to call shadows, are formed by the arrangement of stitches in the horizontal rows - neat!

The blanket is worked flat then trim is added in the round with no breaking of yarn required - only 2 ends to finish off! Just the way I like it!
