Shaggy Dog
When a friend lost her furry companion she asked me to make her a woolly version… so this fleecy, fluffy shaggy dog was created. Worked mostly in Robin Fleece Chunky yarn he is wonderfully soft and squidgy, with extra fluffy ears and tail. He also has optional smart outfit for going out and a Santa suit ready for Christmas. the pattern includes a full alphabet and set of letters for the front of the sweater so you can personalise it how you like.
For my dog I used mostly Robin Fleece chunky (bulky) yarn, which gave a really nice, fleece feel. I used King Cole moments fur style yarn for the ears and tail to make them extra fluffy. These yarns do shed a bit though, so would not be suitable for very small children who may chew their toys.

You will need about 100g of main colour and small amounts of contrast (white and brown) fas well as colours for your outfits. You also need some suitable wadding or other material to stuff the bunny. You could use polystyrene beads for the body if you want a more ‘bean bag’ style. You will also need buttons or toy eyes to use as eyes, unless you would rather embroider these.
You can use any yarn as long as all your colours are the same yarn ‘weight’ or type- different weights of yarn will give different sizes- a rough idea of the size if you use double knit (light worsted) yarn on 4mm needles or chunky (bulky) yarn on size 6mm is given below.
TYPE OF YARN
Chunky (UK) bulky (USA) 12 inches high (sitting), 8 inches wide
Double knit (UK) Light worsted (USA), 6 inches (15 CM high (sitting), 6.5 inches (16 CM) WIDE
Pattern pieces are knit flat and seamed. The pattern uses knit, purl, and increase/ decrease. the pattern includes lots of photographs to help you.
