Shakespeare's Titania
Shakespeare’s Titania represents the magical Queen of Fairies from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” As the play is set in ancient Athens, Titania is dressed in a Greek Chiton and Epiblema (tunic and cloak). The highly variegated yarn brings all the colors of the rainbow to her ensemble. Her Chiton is held in place with shoulder clasps and a sparkling I-cord girdle, which matches her sparkling slippers.
Shakespeare’s Titania is knit on size 6 needles, and fits an 18 inch doll. The construction of each piece is seamless. The simple elegance of ancient Greek clothing means that your favorite young fairy can dress and undress the doll, though especially young fairies may need help with the clasps and girdle.
Shakespeare’s Titania was designed using an 18 inch Creatology “Modern Girls” doll available at Michael’s Craft Stores.
