Shalimar Bamboo Blooms Cape
The soft loveliness of this cape is in the asymmetrical structure and the unpredictable stitch gauge from using a textured yarn. Universal yarn markets two beautifully textured yarns called Bamboo Bloom and Bamboo Bloom Handpaints. King Cole markets a similar yarn called Bamboozle. Both are thick to thin yarns in lovely colors. The changing textures and colors make it possible to create this one-of-a-kind stunning cape. Each cape you knit will develop its own uniqueness. This pattern is written specifically for the yarns referenced.
This light weight airy cape is the perfect garment to wear as a dressy and elegant cover-up or an artsy fashion accessory with jeans and tee. Either way, it is sure to be a welcome wardrobe accessory.
This is my fifth published pattern using these yarns. This cape is perfect for all levels of knitters. The yarn makes it deceptively easy for a beginner to knit a stunningly beautiful garment. The yarn changes constantly so the intermediate and advanced knitters will enjoy watching the garment change with each stitch.
There are three sizes in this pattern. The small and medium require only one skein. The large will require two. However, if you desire a longer cape for the small or medium, you will require a second skein of yarn.
Instructions are included on how to modify the length and circumference should you decide you want to customize this cape.
For size reference, sample cape is a size medium shown on a U.S. Size 10/12 mannequin.
