Mosaic Crochet Pattern – Overlay Technique – US Crochet Terms Available in English and Dutch

In the past, I have taken various courses and training programs in the field of personal, creative, and spiritual development. I also had the great pleasure of spending several years learning from a Shaman who came to the Netherlands to share the underlying philosophy of their way of life. This way of life is based on treating all living beings with respect, according with mother nature. It represents a connection between Father Sky and Mother Earth.
During these lessons, we were also taught certain symbolism and its added value. I have used some of these symbols in creating this pattern. Each crocheted piece includes an explanation of what the symbol stands for.

The pattern consists of 7 parts: 1 border section that can be used as both a top and bottom border or as a divider. The individual sections can also be used separately, for example, for crocheting a cushion or bag.
For each of the 7 parts, there is a crochet description provided for both right- and left-handed crocheters. Additionally, at the end of this document, a crochet diagram for each part is included, which can be used by both right- and left-handed crocheters.

Sizes and Yarn Usage:
The size of the first blanket with the white background is 1 x 1.30 m. Crocheted with Rellana Pronto 100 grams/100 meters 80% acrylic/20 %, virgin wool. Using 7, using a needle size of 8 mm. Yarn used 7 colors: Color number 01 white: 740 meters – 32 green: 83 meters – 21 yellow: 170 meters – 14 gray: 90 meters – 28 brown: 90 meters – 34 fuchsia: 95 meters – 4 blue: 95 meters.
For the blanket with the brown border, I used Durable Dare with a needle size of 6 mm. The final size was 80 x 90 cm.
For the 40 x 40 cm cushion, I used Rellana Stella and Rellana Cosima with a needle size of 6 mm.
You can choose for less or different colors and yarns.
Depending on the yarn and needle size you choose, the size may vary.
