Shamrock 3 Leaf Hot Pad
Did you know that the shamrock symbolizes the arrival of spring? Come celebrate the arrival of spring with me by crocheting a shamrock hot pad! A double layer of 100% cotton yarn will protect your surfaces from heat and condensation while providing a cute decoration for the month of March.
Skill level: Intermediate
Written in US Standard Terms
Dimensions: 8-9 inch square (20-23 cm)
Stitches used: chain, single crochet, bobble
There are written instructions with companion pictures on how to complete a bobble stitch.
Being familiar with changing colors will be helpful with this pattern.
Construction: You will work in rows to individually make each square and work a couple of border rounds before joining the squares together and fastening off. Instructions include details on how to change the stem placement of the shamrock.
Yarn:
- Any worsted/medium weight 4 100% cotton yarn
- Main color (white): 75 yds (73 m)
- Contrasting color (green): 118 yds (107 m)
- Pattern is written for the use of 2 colors, but you may use one or more
- Yarn used for sample is 1 skein of Sugar n’ Cream White, and 1 skein of I Love This Cotton Apple Green
Hook size: 5 mm
Other materials: yarn needle, scissors
