This is a very easy but fun pattern for Newborn shamrock hat. It is only available in newborn size for the moment. Gauge however, is not really important. More crochet stitches along the bottom can make up for any differences/ problems that are come across in the height of the hat. Not much yarn is needed for the hat, so it is a good stash buster.
