Shape Shifters blocks are specifically designed for the Shape Shifters Club on Ravelry. Each month I will publish a new block design which can be used to make blankets of any size, throw pillow covers, placemats, scarves, and stoles.

The name Shape Shifters came about when I had the idea for a Block-A-Month club. Each square design will feature geometric shapes within the square, hence the name “Shape Shifters.” If you are interested in joining the club and would like information on how to qualify for special free-to-members-only block patterns, please visit the Shape Shifters group on Ravelry.

Cascade 220 Superwash 100% Wool, 100g / 3.5oz
220yds / 200m, 3 colors

Yardage per block:
MC Emerald City 890 - 9g
CC1 Pumpkin 822 - 21g
CC2 Pumpkin Spice 1920 - 45g

Needles:
US 5 / 3.75mm 24” or longer
US 5 / 3.75mm DPNs (optional)

Gauge:
20 sts and 40 rows (20 garter ridges) = 4” / 10cm

Supplies:
Tapestry or yarn needle, rust proof pins for blocking

Skill Level: Beginner
Basic knitting skills, garter stitch, picking up stitches, modular knitting, simple color change, crochet cast-on

Errata: a couple of minor corrections.
