A scoodie is a combination scarf + hood. The sample is knitted with lace though it can also be knitted the same stitch and row count with plain stockinette. The pattern includes gauges of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 stitches per inch and 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 rows per inch so it may be knitted on any machine. Lace may be worked by hand, with a lace carriage or not at all. This is part of the book, Single Bed Scoodies which is fully described below:
Scoodies have suddenly become really popular. I really didn’t understand why until I made my first one. Now I get it! These are warm without being restrictive and are less disastrous than most hats on the hairdo. (Not that I actually HAVE a hairdo but why make things worse than they have to be?)/book is $12.99
