Triangle shawls are so wonderfully easy to knit, but they fall off
my shoulders constantly. I wanted a shawl shaped like a body that stayed on when I moved, but it needed to be easy enough to knit in public. That was the inspiration for this pattern. The shaping is the star of this piece, yet the increases are super simple. I used EZ’s backward loop M1.

The bonus is how easily this shawl can be adapted to other sizes of yarn or other stitches. If you are using a handpaint, change some of the rows to (k1, slip 1 wyif ) to prevent pooling; if you have a boucle or other highly textured yarn, change the lace edging to all garter stitch. If your friend is headed for college, stripe it in her school colors. Wear it pinned, tied, or just hanging loose. Any way you wear it, it will stay on your shoulders and
keep you looking good! Make it yours---and send me a picture.
