In tuck stitch description, after instructions for round 16, the pattern should say:
Rounds 17-21 knit.

In main part:
R 78: knit. If you follow my method for marking tuck stitches, k5, mark the last five stitches you have knitted on the previous round, k3, m1, k15, m1 ,k20, mark the last five stitches you have knitted on the previous round, knit till end. (= 64 sts)

Chart 2: Row count is wrong. To get right number, add 8 to the number.

This pattern is based on mitts that appeared in several Russian books and magazines many years ago. I added tubular-stitch edges and a thumb gusset. I also modified the instructions completely to make them more detailed and understandable.

Tuck stitch pattern fascinated me for a while. I’m sort of double minded about stockinette stitch – I love it, and find more modern-looking than many lace or cable patterns. But I also find it somewhat boring – in appearance and especially to knit. Tuck stitch is a lovely alternative.

This pattern is probably not a very suitable project for a novice knitter – unless you’re feeling adventurous. It involves knitting in round, tubular stitch (may actually be replaced by 1×1 ribbing), increasing, casting off and on in the middle of the row, and sewn bind-off (may be replaced by any other).

There are brief instructions on how to perform the tuck stitch itself, and there is a separate tutorial with is available for free here: link text
