There is a genuine need for beanies to keep premature babies warm when they are in the special care nursery. This pattern is free in order to ensure as many beanies as possible can reach these babies and their families when they are needed. Please consider making an extra beanie and donating it to your local Women’s and Children’s hospital.

4mm circular knitting needles
yarn needle

Gauge
22 stitches and 30 rows of stocking stitch to 10cm square

K – knit
P – purl
K2tog – knit 2 stitches together

Special Stitches / Directions:
Changing Colour: When changing colour during knitting ensure that the new colour is woven underneath the previous working thread at the back of the work.
