My daughter loves sharks and I made her a shark pencil case a while ago, which she adores.

And since then the requests have been coming in. So I’ve put together a pattern for a pencil case which is approx 28x15cm in size.

I’ve included 2 designs (hearts and sharks) - some might say they are girl and boy designs, but I’ve got 2 girls and 1 boy and I’ve made 2 sharks and 1 heart, so it really isn’t about that.

The 2 pencil cases are constructed in exactly the same way, it’s just the design that is different, and you’ll need to know how to do tapestry crochet for that.

Included in the pattern is a guide to lining and inserting a zipper - not my favourite thing to do but a requirement for a decent pencil case.

UK terms, but the only stitch I used was Double Crochet, so that’s pretty easy to convert.
