Easy to knit for a newbie yet joyful to make for advanced knitters. Have fun making your own pair of socks with the sole looking like a Shar-Pei dog’s skin!

The diverse pattern of the sole and extra thick heel work perfectly for durability of these Shar-Pei Socks. Similarly to my other sock patterns, the cuff is stretchy and the ankle has stable construction so the socks sit firmly on your feet.

construction
The pattern leads you from a provisional cast on of the cuff, through the heel and squishy sole, straight to toes, providing instructions and extra tips on each step.

The socks are knitted one at the time but the pattern is easily adjustable to knit using magic loop and one- or two-at-the-time method.

materials
Both samples presented in the pattern are made of hand-spun yarn in natural white and in orange with blue specs.

You will need 200- 230 m/ 210- 250 yds. of yarn made of 100% merino (or any content of your choice) and with the following parameters: 220 m/ 100 g (240 yds./ 3.53 oz.).

scissors, tapestry needle, waste yarn in contrasting colour, two stitch markers.

20 sts x 30 rows per 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inches; knitted in stocking stitch in the round with 2 mm/ US 0/ UK 14 straight bamboo needles; measured after wet blocking

sizes and instruction types
The pattern includes written instructions, photographs, tips and links to video and photo tutorials. There are hints in the instructions explaining how to change the size of the Shar-Pei Socks so they fit your better.
