The Classic is created using the Coco knit method. It features 10 cm of positive ease at the bust and an inverted pleat at the center back, giving it a classic silhouette with a defined waistline.

The project begins with Judy’s Magic Cast-On to cast on stitches for the left and right back collar sections. Stitches are then picked up from the back collar, and the shoulder line is shaped with every row increases until reaching the shoulder width. The back panel is knitted first up to the armhole.

From the back shoulder line, stitches are picked up and knitted downwards to create the right front panel up to the armhole. The collar and body are worked seamlessly.

To accommodate the collar’s stretchiness and maintain its structure, a 3.5 mm needle is used for the collar ribbing, while a 4 mm needle is used for the body. Short rows are added at the collar’s neckline edge to lengthen the outer collar edge.

The left front panel is knitted in the same manner as the right front. Afterward, the front and back body panels are joined and worked together. Short rows are incorporated into the front hemline to prevent it from riding up. An inverted pleat is added at the back center to accentuate the waistline.

For the hem, a double-layer edge is worked to prevent curling, with a Horizontal Braid placed at the fold line to give a neat and polished look to the hemline.

Finally, the armhole edges are finished with a clean and neat double-layer stockinette bind-off.
